Smart targets and project development

Here is my final pose decided. I figured that I could fit more detail in to the illustration with this position. 

My first poses roughly sketched out whilst I decided on what angle and position would fit best.

A couple more whilst I decided that a dive pose looked best.

Here I thought about how the hip bones and tail would meet and decided to fuse the legs together just below the pelvis where it would form a tail. However, after drawing this I came up the idea that it would be an extended tail bone that would form the mermaids tail instead of an altered pelvis.

A more developed pose with the addition of a plan of what the head/skull will look like.
Here I had used layers of varying opacity to get an idea of what the body and tail would look like together.

Chris Panda was a great inspiration to my project as he gave me the idea to make the tailbone into the entire fish tail rather than go with my own pelvis/fused legs idea.
